This 1973 Datsun 240Z is said to be a one owner California car. The original paint is aged but presentable but there is a bit of rust damage in spots. The seller indicates that some PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) would help its presentation. This would not affect the original paint on the car while improving its presentation so no arguement there. A good PDR tech can do some amazing work.
By North Eastern standards the rust is minimal but may need to be addressed to pass a state/provincial safety inspection. The seller does go into great detail describing issues with the car, something that is appreciated. The original paint colour is a unique period shade. The vinyl roof is uncommon but actually doesn’t look too out of place.
Under the hood there are no surprises as it looks all of the important bits are still original. There does seem to be a bit of additional rust damage on the fender lip. The six cylinder engine is rated at 151 horsepower, something that really helped the success of the first generation Z cars.
The interior shows some obvious seat bolster wear and cracks in the dash, a fair trade off for the car’s original overall condition. 240Z’s in this condition are non-existent in the North East so the Buy-it-Now price of $5,700 does not seem out of line from this side of the continent. Find it here on eBay in Larkspur, California.
