This 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is not quite “in the wrapper”, but it is close. The seller claims only 2,600 original miles and it does look the part in the pictures. This era of Camaro, mainly the Z28’s, have become increasing popular in recent years as the teens of this era that pictured themselves in one of these way back are now entering their best years for having disposable income to make that a reality. Though being in Ontario, the original looking window sticker shows it was sold new in West Virginia.
The Bronze Metallic paint is the car’s original and looks flawless, by factory standards, in the photos. Don’t expect perfection though as it is not uncommon for blemishes and runs to be present in the factory finish back then. No one in 1980 envisioned this car still being around in 2012, let alone in this condition. Unfortunately some aftermarket key protectors have been installed on the doors.
The interior looks perfect as one would expect for the mileage. As one would also expect from a 1980 Camaro, something is hanging from the rear view mirror. Take your pick; garter belt, handcuffs or in this case a much more respectable cross necklace. The car is too new for fuzzy dice and too old for the hanging CD (that doesn’t beat laser radar anyways).
The engine compartment also fits the seller’s description and appears to have all of its original hoses and clamps. The car retains its original tires as well but these should only be used for show purposes at this point. Buy another set of the 5-spoke rallys and some fresh meat if you want to add any mileage to the car (and unfortunately devalue it in the process). No paperwork is mentioned that supports the mileage claim so anyone interested should ask as the car’s history is not flushed out in the ad. Find it here on Kijiji in Toronto, Ontario with an asking price of $32,000 (though you’d better make sure you are not on the seller’s “do not contact me” list before picking up the phone).
