This 1966 Ford Fairlane is equipped with a Holman-Moody built 427. The seller claims this is one of only six built and it was raced between 1966 and 1970 by an Alabama Ford dealer. Holman/Moody was Ford’s race car builder from the 1950’s to 1970’s.
The cars looks to be in incredible condition in the photos so it has clearly benefited from dedicated ownership throughout its hard but incredibly low 3,500 miles of use. The wheels are definitely later and there is no mention of the originals.
The 427 engine has recently been worked on with some of the Holman/Moody internals replaced, but included with the car. It breaths through the famous Ford tear drop hood scoop.
The interior definitely looks as new, as one would expect with a low mileage garage kept car (only being used in very short spurts). This car hits on two different notes, a historically significant race car and and preserved original paint car. We’ll have to see where this combination takes the bidding. You can find it here on eBay in Massillon Ohio where it has not yet met reserve.
